My Favorite Posts of 2016

Last year I started posting my favorite posts of the previous year. I like the idea of looking back and reflecting. I tend to be so forward focused it is nice to pause and see where you have come from.

So here are some of my favorites from 2016.

When Your Inner Voice Whispers, “Is this all there is?” This is the most common reason my clients come to see me…a hunger for something more.

Don’t Like to Meditate? That’s OK. Meditation has become the holy grail of stress management.  If you struggle with meditation, it doesn’t mean you are doomed to live a life of anxiety and self-hatred. It just means meditation isn’t for you. It’s ok.

We say the world needs more love. What does that really mean? The word love is thrown around so much we don’t even think about what it means. We all say,  “The world needs more love” and at that moment we mean it, but LOVE is a moment to moment choice.

I Want to Live in a World Where  One thing that always strikes me about teaching the concepts of Living Happier is the disparity between how easily they are described and how challenging they are to live. A look at at what type of world it would be if more people were living closer to the ideal end of that continuum.

The Danger in the statement “Everything will be better when…”  Letting go of this mantra has been a game changer in my life.

Why am I So Angry all the Time?  So many of my clients are gentle and sweet on the outside and seething with anger on the inside.

When Positive Thinking Becomes a Bully  I believe that positive thinking has been taken to the extreme in western society, leaving us stuck and making any real changes in our lives.

The Toxic Belief of Soldiering On  There is a belief that is leaving so many women I know exhausted, depleted and stressed out.  It is a toxic concept that I call “Soldiering On.”

7 Common Mantras: What is YOUR Inner Critic’s Mantra?  Our Inner critic’s chat with us all day long. How to start buildling awareness of your inner critic and change the mantra.

Feeling Unappreciated? What to Do First. Too often we are feeling unappreciated and it isn’t just by other people. We need to start by appreciating ourselves.

Thank you for taking this journey with me. I am looking forward to more inspiration in 2017.

Happy Holidays!!
